A storm closes the mountain roads, isolating guests at a remote Transylvanian hotel. The groundskeeper is found dead, staged to look like an accident. The guests carry on with candlelit dinners, captivated and terrified by the region's dark history. The hotel owner and staff are burdened by their own mysterious pasts. More bodies follow. Each is dressed in local folklore, as though the old legends have descended from the peaks to collect a debt. But the staging is too precise. Someone here knows the building and what was sealed behind its walls during the war. One of the guests was sent to ensure the stories stay buried. Ex-NYC cop Charlotte Brenner, on forced leave, is stuck there. She investigates despite having no badge, no backup, and, until the storm lifts, no way out.
