Fast Paced, Action Filled, Great Characters

I've read all of Reilly's other novels, and he just keeps getting better. This novel starts with action and keeps you glued until the climax. If you like James Rollins, Clancy, you'll like Reilly. His books are just like the action blockbuster movies, but only more enjoyable and the world he paints with words is a fantastic as your imagination.

A Superb Ending To a Fascinating Story

This was a great way to end this series. The book picks up right where the other let off. One of best parts of this is that the author saw fit to give us all a reprise of the previous events to refresh our memory. That was a terrific way to star out and I wish all series authors would do the same. When there are large periods of time between novels, a review is really helpful. This book will not disappoint. Enjoy! Anxiously awaiting another installment with Huntsman and the gang!

Non-Stop Action

See synopsis' above. Just wanted to say I loved the previous two in this series but found this one to be just a hair less enjoyable, though it still warrants 5 stars for its non-stop over the top adventure. Yes it's high speed action that requires suspension of belief, but when it comes to a good fast rollercoaster ride, it's a blast and you just can't beat it. I love this kind of adrenaline filled novel.

Forget about Indiana Jones, all hail Jack West!

That's right Indiana Jones is a wimp compared to Jack West! Hyperbole? Okay you got me there, yes. Seriously when was the last time you had fun reading a book? Well if you said 7 DEADLY WONDERS or THE 6 SACRED STONES,you would be right. Matthew Reilly is the master of the over the top, gung ho, escapist adventure. All of his books are a non-stop action rush with history throw in. This one has really good guys, really bad guys, "badder" bad guys, the bad guys become the badest guys, and a world tour and history lesson to end all history lessons. This is the series of books that pits the "world powers" of Ireland and Austrialia against: The U.S., Britan, Japan, China, Saudia Arabia, and sometimes the Catholic Church. Not too shabby, huh? If this sounds too far fetched, who cares. This book is a reader's delight. You suppend logic and devour the book. You keep wondering how is our hero going to survive each deadly trap. Will he save the world? Reilly creates an adventure that boggles the mind, if it wasn't for his drawings you would be lost. AND there are no sex in this book. Now that is a feat! You can't read this book by itself. You need to read the ones that I have mention to fully understand the scope of the adventure. The action is so far out there that you find yourself accepting it and wanting more. You devour, that's right devour this novel in one sitting. This particular novel manages to handle a very touchy subject with dignity and solemity, that being the final resting place of Jesus. I was curious to how Reilly would handle such a hot topic. The book is wild, crazy, fun, and what more can you ask for?

What a nuclear-propelled conclusion to a fantastic series

I received an advance copy of 'The 5 Greatest Warriors' many months ago, and I have been patiently (make that IMpatiently) waiting for it to come out so I could finally write my review, so let's dive in: At the end of 'The 6 Sacred Stones' we were left with a cliff-hanger--LITERALLY. Well, truth-be-told, it was more of a fall, but you get the idea. Jack West is once again left in a situation which ONLY Matthew Reilly could possibly concoct, and as he fell, I knew--I mean I really KNEW he would make it, but with Reilly's boundless imagination, it was the 'HOW' he would survive that kept my mind running amok while waiting for the book to arrive. Shockingly, I figured it out moments before it became clear in the story (LUCKY guess I'd say). Okay, so the end-of-the-world is at hand...Jack's team of major & minor heroes are left broken, shattered or imprisoned...and the clock is ticking. How do you come back from the devastating ruins the team was left in at the end of T6SS? Well, without giving anything away, let me once again remind you that in order to read and enjoy a Reilly novel, you simply MUST suspend your life in reality and accept that despite how utterly cartoonish some of the action sequences are, remember that they were written to entertain you, NOT to portray any semblance of what possibly COULD happen...if you want that, go read Clancy. B-u-u-u-t, if you enjoy novels loaded (and I DO mean LOADED) with action that combine some Clancy, Indiana Jones, a bit of the Paranormal and blended entirely with an Olympic sized swimming pool filled with Testosterone and Steroids, and throw in some creative elements of the Da Vinci Code and you have ALL the ingredients of a Reilly novel ready to consume. As the stakes continue to rise, let me say the sub-plot of saving one of the team members held captive in Israel was easily one of Reillys creative high points if you ask me. The action hardly has a chance to pause long enough to get you from one point on the globe to the next before picking back up again like a Tomahawk Missle racing the Space Shuttle. Again, the action is SO pervasive that it may turn off some readers, but if you liked the 1st two novels in this series, honestly, you already know about what to expect, even if you don't really know what will happen next (I hope that makes sense?). Simply put: Matthew Reilly is on my short list of absolute MUST READ authors. Not because the books are believable, but because I get such a kick out of how much sheer fun I have while immersed within the covers of ANY of his books. I would LOVE it if he could pump out the books without making me wait so long, but I suppose I'd rather wait for a Great Reilly novel rather than be partially satisfied by a so-so book twice as often. If you enjoy Reilly, and you've read 'The 7 Deadly Wonders' and 'The 6 Sacred Stones' you honestly OWE it to yourself to pick this up...and if by chance you HAVEN'T discovered Matthew Reilly just yet, go pick up the first tw
