No one is better than Madden at talking football

No one knows more about football than John Madden, his winning percentage as an NFL coach is one of the best of all time. Furthermore, no one explains football better than Madden, his years of being the most popular color commentator for the NFL broadcasts confirms that. In this book, Madden combines those two skills to explain football to the novice. He begins with a description of the basic offensive structures as well as the most common plays, which is followed by explanations of the standard defensive alignments. Once these are established he then explains each of the offensive and defensive positions and what their role is. Special teams, what to do in various down and distance situations, what winning and losing is all about and how to make it in the NFL are the subjects of the last chapters. Short, to the point and exhibiting some of the trademark Madden flairs, this is a book that will entertain and inform the football novice.
