Ordering this book, I'm nauseously optimistic

I'm getting this Douglas Brode book hoping it's nothing like his reviews of 1980s movies, in which way too many '80s films, in his opinion, were reactions to President Ronald Reagan and his administration. I finally threw that book into a fire. I can only hope --- thus, nauseously optimistic--- THIS book I'm ordering won't have constant references to Truman and Eisenhower, though I'm sure Sen. Joe McCarthy will often rear his ugly head.
