This is a significantly outdated book. Particularly as it relates to the recommendation for aspirin use. Aspirin is no longer used in children due to its association with life-threatening Reyes Syndrome. It also does not specify sleep position for infants which should be supine (on their backs)to reduce the risk of SIDS. Needless to say as it approaches 30 years since its writing their are outdated areas such as immunizations. On the other hand, for its time the book was and remains unique for the way it promotes patient and parent interaction in discussion of common childhood problems. It would best be used with a reference such as the latest edition of Baby and Child Care originally by Benjamin Spock and Anticipatory Guidance Sheets for Parents by Matthew Cohen, et al.
