The Faithless and the Damned

By Sev Romero

In the near future, the world teeters on the brink of collapse as the effects of climate change take hold. The Faithless and the Damned follows the intertwining stories of two characters in this dangerous new world, each caught in a web of peril and betrayal: Ava ; an anxious young rebel confronts her past when she comes face-to-face with her assassination target. The encounter sends her fleeing for her life and searching for answers. Victor ; a widower embroiled in a dark plot involving a young boy with mysterious powers. His final job for a shadowy sect spirals into a quest for truth and redemption. As their journeys collide: They traverse the smoldering landscapes of Australia, from the urban sprawl of a decaying Sydney to the forgotten towns of its outback, and to the coastline being swallowed by the ravenous sea. Ava and Victor face enemies and allies alike, with each encounter pushing them toward life-and-death choices about loyalty, belief, and justice. A series of harrowing confrontations forces them to confront their convictions and what they stand for before the world burns down around them. This gripping narrative weaves together: Themes of justice and generational conflict ; revealing the deep scars left by environmental neglect and unchecked greed, and the fiery spirit of a new generation thirsty for justice. Intense, action-packed scenes set against a provocative vision of the near future ; making the book impossible to put down and even harder to forget. The Faithless and the Damned is a heart-racing journey through a dystopian landscape; a powerful exploration of the battles we fight for our future, with each other, and within ourselves.
