First of all, we need to point out that Jabotinsky's book has ten pages, the rest of which belong to Pinsker's book. Vladimir Yevgenyevich Zhabotinsky, 7 October 1880 - 3 August 1940, was a Revisionist Zionist leader, author, poet, orator, soldier, and founder of the Jewish Self-Defense Organization in Odessa. With Joseph Trumpeldor, he co-founded the Jewish Legion of the British army in World War I. Later he established several Jewish organizations, including the paramilitary group Betar in Latvia, the youth movement Hatzohar and the militant organization Irgun in Mandatory Palestine. In 1903, he was elected as a Russian delegate to the Sixth Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland. After Theodor Herzl's death in 1904, he became the leader of the right-wing Zionists. A week after the publication of "The Iron Wall" (already available on Amazon), Jabotinsky published "THE ETHICS OF THE IRON WALL", in which he argued that morality comes first and that Zionism is "moral and just", since it adopts "national self-determination" as a "sacred principle", which Arabs can also enjoy. Leon Pinsker (1821-1891) was a physician and Zionist activist. Early in his life he had supported the cultural assimilation of Jews into the Russian Empire. He was an advocate of equal rights before the law for Jews, but Pinsker's optimism was dashed after the Odessa pogroms. It was these events, first in 1871, and then in 1881, with greater intensity and lasting several years, after which Pinsker became active in Hibbat Zion, a Zionist organization founded in 1881, in response to these pogroms. Auto-Emancipation (Selbstemanzipation) is a pamphlet written in German by Leo Pinsker in 1882. It is considered a foundational document of modern Jewish nationalism, especially Zionism. Pinsker analyzed the origins of anti-Semitism and advocated Jewish self-government and the development of a Jewish national consciousness. Pinsker's new perspective also led him to participate in the development of the Jewish nationalist group Hovevei Zion, which he chaired. The essay itself inspired the group and Jews throughout Europe, and was a milestone in the development of Zionism and the Jewish state. The pamphlet was published on January 1, 1882.
