Must have if you love the history of fly fishing

Skues was there at the beginning of modern fly fishing and had a major impact on its development. It's a pleasure listening (reading) how he discovered different methods to fish, how he developed his flies, his relationship with his fly rod, and, most important, how he developed nymph fishing. His evident enthusiasm is part of the charm of this book. The background insights regarding fishing in England during those years and the correspondence with American fly fisherman, make this a wonderful historical read as well. I can't recommend it enough.
