The Engineered Accident: A Ghost Spy Thriller
One November morning, a man gets up from the frozen ground at the edge of a forest in the French Alps. He isn't cold. He isn't hungry. He remembers nothing. His wallet holds an ID card in the name of Damien Delano . In the cemetery of the next village, that same name is on a fresh grave, above his own photograph.
The memories come back in pieces. His real name is Thierry de Monts gny, an officer of the DGSE, France's foreign intelligence service. He had just brought a Russian general out of Moscow when his brakes failed on a mountain pass. But brake lines don't drain themselves. Someone prepared that car. Someone who knew his route, his schedule, his habits.
The list of people who knew all that is short. Very short.
From the villages of the Savoie Alps to the corridors of power in Paris, Thierry follows the trail of the people who buried him. Not everyone can see him. And one captain inside the service has started to doubt the official story, which could ruin everything.
An old Savoyard proverb says the dead only truly die when they forgive.
Thierry de Monts gny has not forgiven.
