Jolted into a major change in lifestyle

This book provides succinct and graphic descriptions of the physical consequences of alcohol abuse. The book also offers the hopeful prospect that the alcohol-afflicted individual may not be too late to take remedial action. In my own case, I was already experiencing worrisome physical symptoms. As soon as I began browsing through the book, I could see what lay ahead for me. I immediately stopped my alcohol use and have adopted a firm resolve to remain abstinent for the remainder of my life. Ms. Siple, a registered dietitian, provides a science-based, very understandable overview of the components of the chemistry of eating. She describes what the body needs, what chemicals and vitamins are depleted as a result of addiction, and simple, concrete ways to begin and maintain the healing process. Molly Siple writes in a very readable style that supports taking action. I've tried some of her recipes and find them them to be easy and delicious!
