Fun and engaging

I've been a Boxcar Children fan both as a child and as a mother. This latest story still rings true to the original characters with some necessary and appropriate updating (cell phones, computers). I particularly like how Violet and Benny are written. They are the same thoughtful and endearing children I remember. The mystery in this story is well done, and kept even me guessing for quite some time.

What could be more perfect than the Boxcar Children and dogs!! Dog-Gone Mystery kept my third grade son wanting to read and that's not always the case. Interesting characters both two and four legged.

The Dog-Gone Mystery is a fun and entertaining story about a dog named Watch, some sleuthing kids, and dog obedience school. It's a delightful mystery with great characters of both canine and human variety. A wonderful addition to the series.

Funny and Satisfying Story

I found this one of the most satisfying of recent Boxcar Children mysteries. The children are as clever as ever, and the mystery is good. I especially like the character Baker Brooks, who bakes bread for humans and dog biscuits for dogs. I felt very sad when his dog was stolen from the dog obedience school. I liked the way the different people expressed their love of dogs. Some had pedigreed dogs, others didn't. If you like the Boxcar Children series and if you like dogs and a good mystery, this book will satisfy you. Despite a few typographical errors in the book, the writing is good and the story is satisfying. I barely noticed the typos!
