To formulate this historical novel, I borrowed several anonymous friends, all former co-workers from the Baton Rouge State-Times/Morning Advocate as the protagonists. We are all members of a loose-knit group of retirees from or former employees of the newspaper who jokingly refer to ourselves as The Dinosaurs. We have lunch together once a month and talk about the current state of journalism, politics in general and the LSU Tigers in particular. I have used pseudonyms instead of their real names and the Mt. Hebron Home for God's
Children in this story, as well as the former Navy Seals, are also fictional. Everything else is all too real.
