The Deep Deep Well

By Riaan Engelbrecht

God has called His children to experience the fullness of life found in Him-to live in victory, to walk in peace, to overflow with joy, and to be rooted and established in His love. Yet while God has made everything available to us, our experience of His fullness also requires a response from us. God does His part; we must do ours. The Christian life is a divine invitation to relationship-a holy partnership in which God continually reaches toward us, and we choose whether we will draw near to Him. God has already established the spiritual well. He is always present, always accessible, and always willing to meet with His children. He offers Himself as the eternal source of life, grace, strength, peace, and hope. But we must choose to drink. We must choose to draw near. We must choose to plug into the Source. If we desire more of God, we must ask ourselves how deeply we are willing to surrender, sacrifice, seek, hunger, and thirst after Him. God is not reluctant to meet us; the question is whether we are willing to pursue Him. The well is open, the waters are flowing, and the invitation remains: "Come and drink." There are many wells in this world, but not every well contains living water. The world offers temporary satisfaction, counterfeit pleasures, and empty promises. God calls us away from the wells of the world and invites us to drink deeply from His well of life. This book is an invitation to go deeper-to rediscover the heart of a life surrendered to God and to learn what it means to continually draw from His living waters. The well is there. The water is flowing. God is calling. Will you come and drink?
