Calahan sends a couple of his goons to pick up Tank Tabor for a little talk. Calahan, the town boss, has a proposition for him. If Tank can persuade his brother Bill to drop his investigation of Calahan, they'll let Bill live. Tank is a gambler, and he knows the odds aren't with him, but he's got to try.
