This is the standard disaster movie where the weather will get you and your little dog, too.
Yep, due to global warming, we are due for an early ice age. Only Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) and his local crew can see the truth. The last people to admit it, after the fact, are our illustrious government. So, will Jack’s family freeze along with the neighborhood doggy before the government sees the error of its ways? Or will Jack go to the rescue with his intrepid friends?
We get to watch one mini-disaster after another as the local folk who never listen to the smart brat go out and freeze their tails off. All the kibitzing in the world will not help, as they never listen.
As usual, the DVD has a Commentary by director/co-writer/producer Roland Emmerich and producer Mark Gordon that tries to explain what they are saying. It helps, but not enough.
