No one ever remembers meeting Jane Smith...and she'd like to keep it that way. As a private investigator, she thrives on being unnoticed. The fewer noses in her business, the better. Even the title of PI is too flashy-she prefers Consultant.

Since she solved the case that turned her world upside down, her bubble has expanded. Now she's part of a team under the supervision of her secretive grandmother, Lois Masterson.

But secrets never stay buried. A haunting cold case from Lois's past hits close to home, rocking Jane's world yet again.

As the Consultants dig deeper, a mysterious file leads them to another unsolved murder. Jane is convinced the two crimes are connected, but time is running out when their prime suspect sets a deadly plan in motion. Suddenly, the usually invisible Consultants are in the spotlight, playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
