Great New View of Civil War Battlefields

If you enjoy tramping around America's numerous Civil War Battlefields, then this volume is a must have. Sure there are plenty of battlefield picture books filled with monuments and houses and lots of cannons. Generally all the things you will see yourself when you get there. But this book gives you the view from above and this is one view you simply won't get on the ground. It really is a unique perspective of the battlefields included. I particularly enjoyed the shots of Shiloh, Monocacy and Antietam. I find myself returning to the pages of this book after a visit and orientate myself to what I just saw from the ground level. The only negative is that the book is simply too short!! Let's hope that Sam will hit the air again and give us some looks at battlefields like Pea Ridge, Wilson's Creek, Corinth, and some of the other oft overlooked battlefields. All in all a great book.
