Harper , Ph.D. (1942-2019) was an accomplished entomologist, a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Université de Montréal, a loving husband and father, and a key figure in the liturgical and theological direction of the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Montreal, Quebec in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Dr. Harper chaired the parish's Music and Liturgy committee, authoring numerous books and studies of the parish's development and practices. His work as the parish historian has provided an enduring memorial to the important role of the Church of St. John the Evangelist as the Mother Church of Canadian Anglo-Catholicism.
