For years after his wife's death, Dan Nichols, salesman, pilot, and father, cruises through life on autopilot. Having sold his business at an early age, he grows tired of doing nothing but play golf. When his good friend James "Stump" Reynolds, an aircraft broker, asks him to deliver an airplane to the owner of Intermont Mining and Supply Company in Anchorage, Alaska, Dan jumps at the chance for an adventure.
