In Grade 9, the narrator refused to join a
jazz choir, which they found unappealing due
to the apparent lack of intelligence among its
members, the use of alto clef, and the choir's
choice of color and name (purple and "Fortuity").
They also mention that their self-esteem at the time
allowed them to view the choir kids as losers. The narrator
humorously questions why they, Logan Morris, would ever
consider joining the choir, ruling out their vocal skills
or the presence of attractive girls as reasons.
