Rich history of Mexico and a brave heroine

I was blown away by the rich history this book has to offer. I had no idea there was so much political upheaval and foreign involvement in Mexico during the mid 1800s. Sally Lorimer and her brother Andrew captivated me from the beginning. I loved the raw and real dynamic between them and how they each played integral roles in this story and all of its politics. And Sally’s bravery! What a fascinating read.
