What a great book

This book was good in so many ways. The characters were fully developed. I was completely drawn into the story and the lives of these characters.

The Burgess Boys was a stellar read

Elizabeth Strout is an outstanding storyteller. Tracing the family history - three generations - in this novel set in Maine/NYC is done so well. She goes deep without being mired. Her prose doesn't waste a word. The Burgess Boys, like Olive Kitterege, kept me in page-turner mode from beginning to end. I've since gone on to find more Strout work. It is moving, insightful and honest.
