Vivienne Soile only wanted one perfect photograph.
Sneaking into Lotus Cove to capture the wreck of a legendary pirate ship seemed like a great idea.
Right up until a riptide sweeps her beneath the surface.
Instead of drowning, thirteen-year-old Vivienne finds herself inside a hidden underwater cave with an impossibly tiny opal skeleton, an ancient amulet, and Tsten-a sarcastic Air Elemental who has been asleep for centuries and wakes up with entirely too many opinions.
Then the amulet chooses her.

Suddenly animals are talking to her. Blue fire appears when she needs it. Ravens keep showing up like they know something she doesn't. And creatures Vivienne knows perfectly well are mythical have apparently decided to stop respecting that fact.
Vivienne has always been curious. Independent. Pretty sure she can figure things out for herself.
Magic is about to test that theory.
What begins beneath Lotus Cove becomes an adventure into a hidden world of Fae, Elementals, dwarves, ancient guardians, secret passages, strange creatures, and one enormous battle-cat.
Some of it is beautiful.
Some of it is completely ridiculous.
And some of it is very dangerous.
The deeper Vivienne goes, the more obvious it becomes that everyone around her knows something she doesn't. Questions earn half-answers. Conversations stop when she walks into the room. Ancient beings look at her as though they recognize something she has never seen in herself.
Naturally, this only makes her more determined to find out why.
But there are secrets in this world that have been buried for a very long time-and not everyone wants them uncovered.
Now Vivienne has to decide who she can trust, survive creatures she once would have sworn could not exist, and somehow find her way back to her ordinary life on the Massachusetts coast.
Preferably with answers.
Because something old is stirring.
Something dangerous is getting closer.
And whatever Vivienne stumbled into at Lotus Cove may have been waiting for someone exactly like her.
