Bumpy but happy reunion

College lovers Caitlin Calloway and Jamie Jameson's relationship ended one day after a passionate lover making session. 12 years later Dr. Jameson meets Detective Calloway at the hospital she's working. Jamie hates CC for running out on her 12 years ago. CC wants to get back together again. But a folly of misunderstandings and interruptions keep them from sealing the deal. There's a serial killer on the loose and he's killing women who look like Jamie. There's lots or romance and mystery. At one point when I was reading, I wanted to say "Ladies chill so we can catch the killer".

A Keeper for any great collection!

The Brass Ring is a wonderful book full of love, lust, broken hearts all around, murder, and crazy people! Not to mention the hot sex! This book has laugh out loud humor and a love that will touch your heart. You will fall in love with the amazing women in this book. From beautiful tough cop Caitlin Calloway, spitfire Dr. Jamie Jameson, kid sister Stevie, and little baby Emma. The heartbreak and misunderstandings in this book make the reader root for these two lovers. Plus this book offers a good murder plot that may or may not be solved. Will the killer be brought to justice or will the cops be able to connect the dots enough for a strong case? The Brass Ring is a very easy, enjoyable read. I thought this was a great book. I look forward to reading more from this amazingly talented writer.

This story is great!!

Mavis Applewater has delievered a very interesting combination of romance and mystery. This is a true thriller, which doesn't ignore romance. I find it interesting that the only negaitive reviews come from the same person under different names. It wasn't hard to figure out since it is the very same review perhaps if this reviewer was as clever as the writers they have been bashing lately they would be more creative. What? didn't you think people would notice? I feel a need to mention this since this person seems very focused on one publishing house. Lesibian romance is so rare and it is nice to find stories that can entertain us. So why try and to take that away? Mavis gives us what we want, no pretense and lots of steamy scenes.

A definite must for your book collection....

Got the book and started reading... before I realised I was on the last page and it was 4am:D What can I say, the story and the characters would not let me go to sleep! AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT STORY!!!!!The charachters were very real and beliavable, and what seemed to be a love story, the author also managed to bring in a good suspence plot there...A little more on the the reality and message in the book... yes I thought there was one:)...Even in todays "civilized" world, were everyone is supposedly free to love whom ever they choose to, gay people still have to hide who they truly are because of narrow mindness of others... what happened to the leading charachter in the book in the past, unfortunately still happens today...

A sexy thriller

The Brass Ring is nonstop excitement. The main character Jamie Jameson thinks she meets the woman of her dreams, when she meets a charismatic policewoman. Her turmoil begins when the romance turns sour and years later she is faced with dealing with her feelings and a new danger she had never suspected.
