The Metamorphoses is the myth engine of Western civilization. Every story you half-remember from school - Daphne becoming a tree, Icarus falling from the sky, Narcissus drowning in his own reflection, Orpheus looking back - comes from this poem. Ovid wrote it two thousand years ago, and it reads like he was doomscrolling before the concept existed: gods shapeshift to assault mortals, mortals get punished for the gods' behavior, and everyone who suffers gets turned into something - a bird, a flower, a stone, or if you were lucky, just a constellation.

This parallel text presents all 15 books of Ovid's Latin epic alongside a new English translation in "brainrot" - the internet-native, meme-inflected register of a generation that communicates through screens. Every Latin line is matched 1:1 with its English translation. Nothing is added. Nothing is removed.
