Far from being mere knuckle-draggers with guns, this book defines the multi-skilled roles required by a professional British contractor in a hostile, foreign environment. It's thoroughly laced with Simon's trademark salty, penetrating sense of humour and brutal honesty which allows the reader to experience the roller-coaster we all rode. I'm perhaps biased in my review, having been fortunate enough to have worked alongside Simon on both ASP2 in the desert outside Tikrit as well as the PSD-team mentioned. A huge grin cracked my face as I read his description of the contact on the Vortex and the various people involved - exactly as I remembered it from my position in Victor 2. Nice one, mate.
