Excellent read and debut book

If you like reading "boardroom" stories with happy endings then this is the book for you. The Boss's Demand is a simmering and at times, painful love story which will take you on a steamy and sensual journey. The book begins on a sour note as Elan Al Mansur is telling his Human Resource Director that she must fire his newly hired personal assistant. And why one might ask? Because she is young, attractive and he only wants an older PA because the young women he has employed in the past are after him and his millions. Sara Daly has a lot to prove to herself and her family. She has taken the responsibility to pay off the hospital debt her mother's illness strapped her family with and she's determined to become a success in the oil industry. She has worked long a hard to get her degree in business and geology and no stubborn boss is going to take that away from her let alone fire her on her first day of the job. You will witness this stubborn woman proving herself not only to her boss, but to the entire company. However, she is strongly attracted to Elan and one evening she succumbs to his charm and charisma and becomes intimate with him. They both realize the mistake and try to get back to business on a professional level. Sara pushes herself to "painful" lengths to prove she is worthy and a professional in the industry. What Sara is not aware of in the beginning is that Elan needs no one due to his past life with his family. At a young age he is cruelly removed from his family by a heartless and cruel father. What Elan does not like are his feelings of protectiveness and lust for Sara. Jennifer's characters are both strong in similar yet different ways. The Boss's Demand was a wonderful debut book and a very enjoyable read and yet sad at times as Elan was an extremely lonely man. It took Sara's gentleness to heal him because she saw the man himself, not the man of wealth and power.

Truly Enjoyable Read

FROM BACK COVER: Powerful oil tycoon Elan Al Mansur never wanted Sara Daly as his new assistant. Her lush curves and alluring scent would only prove a distraction to what mattered most to him: business. But one night in the desert Elan gave in to his desires, seducing the woman he'd sworn never to touch. Four months later, his secretary revealed she was carrying his baby. Suddenly the stern businessman discovered he didn't want Sara gone at all. But would she agree to her boss's demand that she become his wife? COMMENTS: I truly enjoyed reading this book and very happy I purchased it. Both characters are likeable partly because the author did a good job helping the reader to understand the hero and heroine's reasons for their actions. Elan's difficulty in allowing himself to love and trust and Sara's need for independence and need to support herself. After one night together Elan tries to push Sara away and drive her to leave by challenging her abilities, but Sara doesn't allow his demands to diminish her commitment and love for her job. Elan can sometimes be overprotective (in a loving\caring way) and controlling but sees that as an expression of love for Sara, which is an affect of his upbringing and background. This book had me cheering for the couple and I was able to sympathize and understand both points of view. I agree with the previous review\reader Kelley Hartsell, in requesting that the author develop books for the Mansur brothers (hint, hint).

Jennifer Lewis shows promise as a future star

Courtesy of CK2S Kwips and Kritiques Jennifer Lewis shows promise as a future star with her debut release The Boss's Demand. Sara Daly has struggled for many years to make ends meet. With her mother's extended illness and Sara's schooling, bills have piled up faster than she can pay them off. So when she lands the perfect job working as executive assistant to oil tycoon Elan Al Mansur, she thinks her prayers have been answered. She never expected just how much it would change her life. Elan has grown weary of young attractive women landing jobs at his company with the sole purpose of landing him for their husband. When Sara shows up on her first day, he's convinced she's exactly like all the others and demands she be fired instantly. When Sara doesn't run, but instead demand he give her a shot under the agreement that if she behaves in any untoward way, he can fire her, he reluctantly agrees to let her stay. Sara proves too difficult for Elan to resist however until he gives in to his passion one desert night and leaves her pregnant with his child. When Elan discovers the pregnancy, what will The Boss's Demand be this time? Perhaps love? Though initially I was put off by Elan's attitude towards Sara, I quickly warmed up to him when I learned the real reason for his behavior towards Sara. The complete turnaround he does when he discovers Sara is carrying his child will make every woman long for a strong passionate caring man like Elan Al Mansur. His true personality comes to light once his history is revealed to us and we see what kind of life he led growing up. That molded him into the person he is and Sara is the one person who realizes he has what it takes to overcome his past and be all the stronger for it. Sara has struggled for a long time to get out from under the weight of her family obligations and the immense debt built up as a result of that. So when this domineering judgmental man tries to fire her for other people's failings, her desperation makes her stand up for herself and demand her fair dues. She's strong, proud, determined, fiercely independent which makes her the perfect match for Elan. She's much the type of person so many of us wish we could be in our lives. Readers won't be able to help but love the feisty Sara and will cheer for her when she finally has everything she could wish for and more. The intensity of the attraction between Sara and Elan is not lacking either. The sparks start flying from the moment they meet and the underlying tension between them makes for a very sensual read, even without a lot of sex occurring, as is expected from the Silhouette Desire line. In fact, the tension is so well done that when Sara and Elan finally come together, readers know it's going to be an electrifying experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my entry into Jennifer Lewis's oil industry world in The Boss's Demand and look forward to future works of hers. Especially if it means we get to see Elan's two brothers find their happy-e

Jennifer Lewis's debut novel - heart-touchingly fun

Elan Al Mansur has endured more than his fair share of flirtatious young women at the office. He specifically requested that his new assistant be a `mature' woman with decades of experience. The discovery that a twenty-five year old woman has been hired to take the position isn't sitting well with him. Elan's solution to the problem is to have Sara reassigned to a position in accounting - a step backward from the right hand to the CEO position she'd been promised. Sara Daly may only be in her mid-twenties but she's worked long and hard to achieve her level of education and is eminently qualified to be Elan's assistant. She moved away from her family in Wisconsin to take this job in Nevada and she is counting on the income to help dig her out of the debt from school loans and her mother's illness. There's no way she's made it this far just to have it all ripped away from her because her new boss thinks he's irresistible to women. It looks like the end to all of Sara's dreams of building her career and earning a reputation by working as Executive Assistant and Project Manager for this fast growing company. If Elan thinks she is meekly going to accept this change of positions, he is dead wrong. Sara fights for her job with everything she has and goes so far as to threaten to sue for reverse age discrimination. Her fighting spirit works! Elan grants her a month to prove that she is professional enough to keep her mind on her duties and personal interests out of the workplace. Sara quickly realizes that there is something very attractive about Elan which could potentially be a problem. Being self supportive is vitally important to Sara and she isn't about to do anything to endanger the opportunity she's been given. Elan can't deny being impressed with Sara's professionalism, but the warm caring side of her is catching him off guard. Even though he would never become involved with one of his employees, he's having a hard time keeping himself from thinking about kissing Sara. A business trip results in one unforgettable sexual encounter which they'd regret afterwards - how can they return to a boss/employee relationship after sharing something so spectacular? To complicate matters even further, that encounter results in an unexpected pregnancy. THE BOSS'S DEMAND is a charming tale of love between a boss and employee but more importantly it tells the tale of two individuals learning that they don't have to repeat the same mistakes as their parents did in their marriages. Jennifer Lewis writes this story with a lot of insight into Sara and Elan's backgrounds which allows us to relate to the characters' emotions and reasoning extremely well. I have to admit I adored Sara because of her willingness to do what she felt was right rather than what would be easiest. She may have been afraid of the results but that never stopped her. Elan is one of those men that women are just drawn to, he has a dominating presence that I found attract
