A Rich Historical

It is a pleasure to read the work of an author who weaves in enough detail to provide a rich historical backdrop for an appealing story. Her characters are lively and real, and the setting is refreshingly unusual.

All new setting for a time honored fairy tale

A beautiful book with all the elements we love best in romance, plus a gorgeous setting I've never seen! Ms. Hale's eloquence and deligthfully crafted sentences make this book a pleasure to read.

Deborah Hale at her finest.

We have come to expect the best from Deborah and she never disappoints. Not the usual hero, it doesn't take us long to see why Jenny can't help but fall in love with Harris. When Harris finally takes her down from the pedestal he placed her on, he finds life will not be complete without her.Ms. Hales characters come alive on the page. Her description is weaved in so beautifully that we find outselves wanting to go where they've been to see for ourselves. Another book for your keeper shelf and a definite 5+.

The Bonny Bride

Again, Deborah Hale pens a wonderfully warm tale for those cool spring nights. THE BONNY BRIDE is a delightfully fast-paced book you simply can't put down. Deborah just gets better and better. Jenny Lennox is a heroine to whom every woman can relate. Harris Chisholm is a true hero in every sense of the word. He's warm, honest, dignified, a hero who can span the ages. Deb's historically accurate Great Miramichi Fire provides a fabulous backdrop for the climax. I can still smell the smoke!

Deborah Hale just keeps getting better and better!

Having read Deborah Hale's first two books, My Lord Protector and A Gentleman of Substance, I knew I would enjoy THE BONNY BRIDE. I wasn't disappointed. Deborah delivers once again with a tightly-plotted, fast-paced, emotionally-satisfying story. The author/reader "contract" is fulfilled beautifully. But with this one, Deborah delivers something extra. There are moments in this book which shimmer with pure truth. I found myself thinking, "Yes! Life is JUST LIKE THIS!" If you pick this one up, you will be richly rewarded.
