A must read-super creepy!

So, I admit it. I am a HUGE fan of John Saul, I have met him at several book signings, and keep his books on display separate from my other books. I recomend reading earlier works from him BEFORE reading this book. There are references to past characters and stories(i.e. Suffer the Childrens Elizabeth is all grown up) Just make it easy and read ALL his books, they are all excitind and spinetingling and super creepy!

A chilling page turner...another Great Saul!!

Let me just start by saying that I LOVE John Saul!! And this series was great! It kept me turning, page after page and I could not put it down. Here I am, just finishing and still recovering from lack of sleep for all the time I put in to finishing this book!! I was nervous and chilled as well as angry at times and I even found a few humerous parts. And I love the way our dear Mr. Saul would throw characters from his other books in there. This book is basically about the past of the Insane Asylum and the horrible things that went on and the evil doctor that ran the place. Now, years later, they want to conserve it and a mystery gifts start popping well as a little added evil.

You Will Get Goosebumps

I read the six-month installments in 1997. This is vintage John Saul -- the delightfully insidious terror that overtakes a sleepy little village. These books left me wanting more. I thought he did an excellent job of building the suspense and creating very interesting characters. What really made these installments so wonderful was the reintroduction of characters from previous books. I certainly hope John Saul does another Blackstone series or novel -- we would love it!

An excellent book!

In The Blackstone Chronicles, Saul did what should be done: he kept the reader waiting for more. Now, the entire series is available in one book. It shows only very few similarities to The Green Mile, especially in that in this series, the perspective continually changes. If you haven't read the series, pick up this book and enjoy! Anyone who is interested, E-mail me, and I'd be happy to discuss John Saul books. I plan to pick up "The Presence" next week.
