Javna, with leading TV critics and science fiction experts, rates the fifteen best and ten worst science fiction shows of all time. The best and worst shows come to life in this extravagant anthology. 250 black-and-white photographs.
This book is fun to have first for the memories alone; I can see some of my favorite scenes, such as the Star Trek episode "City on the Edge of Forever."
Second, for those too young to have memories to catch up with what they missed, such as "Science Fiction Theater" narrated by Truman Bradley. I was disappointed to find the Sci-Fi channel has no clue that this exists. I have my own set of DVDs.
Today, it is useful because all the old programs are slowly coming back on DVD. This is a good guide to see what to look for in future releases. I had to buy a makeshift version of "Science Fiction Theater" while waiting for a commercial version.
The listings are in an artificial order selected by John Java, and the comments and ratings are truly his. Other than that, this makes a great addition to your TV Science Fiction library.
