I thoroughly enjoyed The Bench. It kept me in suspense. I liked everything about it, thought it grabbed the reader's attention quickly and held it throughout. The characters were developed beautifully and the interactions forming a successful working body were fascinating. The descriptions of the court reflected insights of one who had been there. I have recommended it to friends and family alike.

Intriguing story about the Michigan Supreme Court justices and their on the Bench stories and their fascinating behind the scenes stories. It was especially fun to see in print the names of streets, cities, and buildings that I would recognize as someone who lives in Michigan.

What a great book! The Bench tells the story of eight fictional Michigan Supreme Court Justices both in and out of the court room. My favorite story line was of Edward Breitner, the long time Chief Justice that is ousted from his seat by Freshman Justice Jim Malloy on his first day!The author, Thomas Brennan, is retired from the Michgian Supreme Court. The knowledge he has of the innerworking and politicing that goes on in the office makes for a very credible and beleivable story. If you like Grisham ... you will love Brennan!!
