This book's beauty is more than skin deep!

On the surface, this looks like a campy book on the tragi-comedy of beauty in our pop-culture obssessed universe, but it is far more...brilliantly, so! Snappy chapters with wonderful accompanying photographic artwork bounce from destination to destination, the wry and witty author taking the reader on a "beauty trip" through the mid 1990s sensibility. It remains a timeless take on our perceptions and hangups about youth and good looks, but it also serves as a marvelous time capsule of life in 1995. Definitely try to find a copy of this bemusing read. It is way more than a coffee table accoutrement. It might just make you take a look in the mirror...and see more than just the reflection staring back at you!
