GREAT READ!

This is a really fun read. Very fast-paced. Imaginative. Strong characters. I'm not usually a fan of fantasy-based stories, so for me to like one caught me by surprise. "Council..." has a nice, cinematic pace and structure to it; one can easily see this as an exciting, action-oriented movie thrill ride. It grabs your attention in the first chapter and never lets up. One of the things that author Koller does very well is consistently tripping up the reader's expectations. The story never became predictable. Also, the set pieces carry a nice epic tone that markedly amps the scope of the novel quite nicely. It FEELS like a big story, as it should. The characters are interesting, the twists are fun, and the story itself is inherently interesting and engaging. An all-around good time, and it makes for the perfect read at the beach for the summer. Highly recommended!
