It charts his Mum's enduring endeavours to provide for the family and rebuild their lives after being left with virtually nothing. With three infant boys to bring up on her own, her search for happiness is often punctuated with troublesome times. It's a gripping story of love and loss, trauma and uncertainty, battling against the odds to keep a family afloat and the affects these events have on the family. Being autobiographical, these events are punctuated by stories and historic events from the era through the eyes of the author.
