great storytelling

just finished this book. loved the characters and story. i want to read more. worth your time to read. love the irish folklore.

Another winner from Carla Neggers

Using her trademark depth of character, Carla Neggers spins an evocative and exciting story that expands the world she created in The Widow. The centerpiece of this story is a stone Celtic angel that mysteriously appears and disappears and its story lures folklorist and artist Keira Sullivan to Ireland. In her pursuit of the angel, Keira crosses paths with Simon Cahill, a search and rescue expert who is more than he appears. She also crosses paths with a determined murderer who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. The intertwining of family connections and their stories gives The Angel a depth of emotion that rings true and Neggers' firm hand and clear prose never lets it get of control. The story not only solves the mystery, but satisfies a need for emotional involvement without becoming cloying. In fact, the real charm of the story is how the relationships play a key role in unraveling the motive and identity of the killer. A real winner that leaves you wanting the next one SOON.!

Loved it so much I went back and read the Widow again!

This book was a great follow up to The Widow! I love the whole Irish aspect combined with Boston -- Carla Neggers really weaves great descriptions with a compelling story and characters. Keira's a brave heroine and Simon's a sexy hero, that's for sure!

GREAT READ

I ABSOLUTLY LOVED THIS BOOK. THE MAIN CHARACTERS AND SECONDARY CHARACTERS WERE WONDERFUL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE.

Superb storytelling

In Boston elderly Patsy McCarthy entertains folklorist Keira Sullivan with his lyrical tales of a stone angel in Eire. Unable to resist the magical lure and ignoring the warning of antiques collector Victor Sarakis not to meddle, Keira travels to the Emerald Isle to learn more about the Celtic legend. Before crossing the pond, Keira meets FBI agent Simon Cahill who is working a serial murder case. In Ireland, Keira follows clues to an ancient ruin where she thinks she glimpsed the stone angel only to have the place cave in on her. Simon who followed her after the murder of Patsy and Victor finds her. Whereas she thinks someone tried to kill her, he has doubts. Neither is cynical about their feelings for one another, but when the angel reappears allegedly in the United States, Simon and Keira wonder if a psychopath is at work or something more supernaturally capricious. This strong romantic suspense grips readers from the moment Patsy tells about the legend to an engrossed Keira and never slows down on the Irish coast as the audience and the lead couple wonder if the culprit is human or paranormal. The romance feels right as the mystery is the center behind this fabulous thriller in which Carla Neggers keeps her fans guessing what the killer is. Harriet Klausner Superb storytelling
