Except Nico Romano is actually a prince-- heir to a monarchy, destined to marry a woman of royal blood. Regina has no illusions that a working-class American like herself could fit into his world of power, palazzos and paparazzi. Their passionate affair must end when her vacation does. The Amalfi Bride

Regina Tomei is on the Amalfi Coast of Italy on the last leg of a holiday. Stopping at a quaint outside bar for a drink, her eyes meet that of a tall, dark and attractive stranger. Throwing caution to the wind, Regina allows herself to be picked up by this seductive man thinking he is a professional, only to find out the truth later. It seems the man she met as Nico Romano is actually Principe Don Nico Carlo Giovanni Romano, heir to a monarchy and the almost fiancé to a woman with royal ties. Nico has never experienced desire to the likes of which he experienced when his eyes met Regina's. Knowing his duty must come first, Nico is unable to stop himself from taking what his cara seemingly freely offers. It isn't until later that Nico realizes exactly what Regina left with when she returned home; his child. I love fairy tales, even contemporary ones. What started out as a simple affair turned into so much more in The Amalfi Bride and I was engulfed with emotions as I read this story. Nico knew his duty and until he met Regina, was not bothered by the roads his life was taking. In a few short hours, Regina and Nico changed each other's lives for the better and that was the true fairy tale of this story. I laughed. I cried. I yearned. When I read the last word, I smiled. The Amalfi Bride was a truly enchanting read. Talia Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed
