Karpis was a real gangster

A must read for anyone studying the gangster era. Karpis was a real gangster. A bad man. I have a feeling he did not tell the whole story here. He left out some incriminating stuff (murders?) in order to put himself in the most positive light. He was an egotistical sociopathic criminal. That is what made him one of history's most notorious gangsters. The book is rare and costly but If you have an interest in true crime and it's perpetrators it is worth it.

alvin karpis is my hero

public ememy #1 the alvin karpis story is the best book of all time. first of all this book is extremly rare. so expect to pay from $75.00 to $200.00 for it,but it is worth it. the pictures alone are worth it!!!!!the book details karpis's life on the lam as the best bank robber/kidnapper of all time, and his partners fred and doc barker, the rest of there gang is in and out.the gang even has there own doctor, doc moran who preforms painful fingerprint removal from karpis doc and fred barker. the detail of the removal is painful to the reader!!!! the book is #1 a must have!!!! dean hagerman
