Story of an American family in the Philippines; imprisoned by the Japanese during World War II This description may be from another edition of this product.
The story of Grace Nash and her husband and small sons as they struggle through World War II in the Phillipines. The whole family is captured by the Japenese and kept imprisoned in camps. It is only by the brave generosity of people outside sneaking in food, and Grace's ability to play beautiful music on the violin, which pleases some of the more humane guards, that they survive. Very good book.
