It was the checkers playing chicken

Maverick I was struck with the similarity between, both the main character and the plot line. One could make this into a Bart Maverick screen play with very little but some name changes! It has the elements of humor and sentiment found in classic westerns. A horse race for all the marbles with a cross dressing jockey on an unknown horse is just the excitement at the end!
