A sharp, funny account of life on the presidential campaign trail and the characters you meet along the way. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I loved reading this book -- and not just to see all the ways Stump Connolly, who calls himself the chief political correspondent of The Week Behind, sneaks into different candidate events. Clearly, he's been around presidential campaigns before. In one chapter, he writes at length about covering the Wisconsin primary in 1972 with Hunter Thompson and the many changes just in the technology of campaigning. Besides conveying the sheer joy of being out on the stump, he also offers up a sharp picture of life on the campaign trail. I recommend the book to anyone out on the campaign trail this year, or thinking of going.Talk's Cheap, Let's Race!
