Four aliens from the planet Xaria befriend a college librarian in the sedate town of Zephyr, Texas. Their leader is Morph, a dapper scholar/warrior with formidable powers and a wry sense of humor, along with Fria, a tall and willowy dancer and martial arts sensei who has co-opted the personality of a famous sixties television spy, Fay, a petite, recently activated android, imbued with encyclopedic knowledge and surprising emotional sensitivity, and Tor, a barrel chested adventurer and part time drama instructor. The Etherians have instructed Morph to subdue the unpredictable earthlings with a mysterious substance called Sweet Blindness, so that they may extract the planet's rare minerals and use it as one of their vacation getaways. The tale careens from dream world rendezvous, a showdown with the neanderthalian Draks in the Chihuahuan Desert, and Fria's quest to make love to Jack Kerouac.
