The stories in this collection, all set in and around New York City, portray police officers, detectives, and ranking officers as they move through the varied emotions and trauma of their careers on the streets of the city and suburbs. I strove to capture the good, the bad, the tragedy, the heroism, and the humor that comes from situations for which black-and-white solutions simply do not exist. My hope is the reader will empathize with each protagonist, and perhaps with each lawbreaker, and come away agreeing with the outcome, condemning it, or offering up their own resolution.
