The author, a disabled, African-American Olympic ski medalist, Rhodes scholar, former White House official, and businesswoman, shares her personal formulas for making it to the top of one's field without sacrificing the things that are most important. Deane's prescriptive plan offers tools, insights, and exercises that help readers get the most from life while giving up less.
Bonnie is the most amazing person ever! Harvard, Oxford, the Olympics, Wall Street, and the White House despite coming from a quadruple- disadvantaged background? Wow! This book and her story are so inspirational. This is the first self-help book that ever inspired me to Do something. Normally I just feel mentally enriched by a self-help book but don't physically apply the knowledge.

What makes this book so special are the real life stories the author shares. Her advice is honest and sincere because she has sorted through many of these issues herself and has generously shared her insights. I've found this an immensely useful book in understanding how to satisfy my drive to succeed without sacrificing other aspects of my life. Deane's life is remarkable and inspirational but she writes as if she is a friend helping you along your path.
