Exciting and interesting read

The blurb on this book seemed to meet my criteria -- mystery with a female protagonist of color and some "love interest(s)." (I've read Sujata Massey's Rei Shimura series, Kyra Davis' Sophie Katz series, David Handler's Berger and Mitry series, Sparkle Hayter's Robin Hudson series and Dana Stabenow's Kate Shugak series.) I didn't realize this was an EROTIC mystery/thriller until it was in my hands. I don't normally read erotica, so I can't say how it compares to other erotica, but I definitely found it steamy, with quite a variety of erotic scenes and plenty of them (2 in the first 20 pages). Sometimes the erotica slowed down the movement of the plot, but maybe that's what an "erotic thriller" is supposed to be like. Not being that familiar with Africa, London or British culture, I was a little thrown off by some of the terms and references, but I enjoyed being taken outside the U.S. I really liked the biracial (Nuba and English) protagonist, Teresa Knight, with her karate moves and socio-political analysis of events and look forward to the next book about her, Beg Me.
