Stormcathers My book is about a girl who is about 12 and is home alone while her brother is right next door at his friend's house for a few minuets. While Ella is home alone with her little brother Sammy, she hear something and it's a guy in her house and he started to walk toward her and she started running to get to her little brother to make him hide somewhere. He found her and took her outside and down by the water. Fin came back from his friend's house and saw a note on the counter it said don't tell anyone. Their parents got home and saw the note they were mad at Fin for leaving the house. They didn't know how to get Ella back. The guy that took Ella put her in a cave he called the house the next day and said if he wants his daughter back he had to pay money by a certain day. He paid the guy the money and they were all together again. I recommend this book because it was a really good book and if you like surprising books.

Great Book!

In Storm Catchers Fin's sister is kiddnapped while Fin is at his friend's house although he should be home with Ella, his sister. Him and his family are devastated about Ella's disappearance but Fin is determinded to find Ella. The book was really good and had you always guessing of whats gonna happen next. The book had a little bit of "magic" in it. The ending I think was quite sudden and unexpected but still a great book! I recomend it to everyone!

Walking Out Of A Storm

The ALA booklist and the voice of youth advocates are both awarded to Storm Catchers. In my opinion it deserved both awards. Tim Bowler did an excellent job choosing his words carefully. Tim Bowler wrote Pocalypse, Firmament, River Boy and Storm Catchers. My opinion of Storm Catchers is that this book is one of my favorite books because it has very good word choice and it is specific. I also like that Storm Catchers is fiction and has 200 pages that never bore me. Ella has always been scared of her house that she's lived in her whole life. Her older brother, Fin, goes to his friend Billy's house while leaving 13 year old Ella and 3 year old Sam home alone. Ella stands tiredly over Sam while he is sleeping and suddenly she here's a noise coming from the sitting room. She, being brave, checks it out for herself and then finds herself dashing into Sam's room to hide him in a cupboard. There's no way she could escape now. Ella is taken to a cave by her kidnapper. At home how could is get worse when they find that Sam has gone missing. The kidnapper calls Ella's parents and demands money for Ella's life. Sam, now found, and Fin try to do a pendulum to try to find Ella. Does the pendulum work and do they find Ella dead or alive? One aspect of this book is that I enjoyed is that the Parnell family is very loving. After Ella is kidnapped, her family doesn't dare to risk Ella's life and call the police. Sam is so cute! He has a bear called Teddy that he takes care of throughout the story. You'll find Sam independent and a very good secret keeper most of the time. Mrs. Parnell is probably the most loving of them all. She tries to seem not worried about Ella so Sam won't get depressed. Fin is brave and fierce as he would donate his life for Ella's. Mr. Parnell is the dad. He is strict for some of the right reasons but when they find out a secret he has been hiding from them he turns more sensitive. At first Ricky, the kidnapper may seem violent but he turns his attitude around. During this book you will have the experience of the outstanding and descriptive settings. The variety of settings is amazing especially the cave and the three islands. When Billy said, "These islands would drive me insane," I thought maybe the islands looked dead, plain, and boring. The cave Ella stays in sounds dark and creepy. By the way Tim Bowler described it I can hear the water whipping itself into the rocks that makes it very insecure. The Parnell household also seems pretty scary. It's old and makes creaking and tapping noises. I like these settings because the writer garbs my attention by the awesome word choice. Storm Catchers is a fantastic book. This book makes you feel like you're in the story. The scary parts make me bite my nails until I didn't have anymore. I probably jumped about a foot in the air. There were defiantly parts when I saw the family being nice and polite to each other. A part made me want to hurt the dad though b

Ella's Kidnapping

The story begins by introducing you to Ella Parnell. She is home alone with her little brother Sam. While her brother is asleep she sees a man in the reflection of the window, and turns around. Suddenly the man gets her, and kidnaps her. Fin arrives home to a note stating if he tells anyone that Ella is missing, she would die. A few days go by and finally the man calls. He demands that Fin bring two hundred-thousand dollars to the famous, abandoned, Pengrig lighthouse The Parnells realize where the boy was taking Ella, and went on their boat to the largest of the Fury Islands also. When they tie up to the dock there, they hear a gunshot, and follow the sound to the source. They find both Ella and the boy lying against the rock when they realize that Ella was the live one. She tells them that the boy was the one who shot himself since he was so upset with what he did. I would recommend this book for mainly one important aspect, the suspense. Because the book was very suspenseful and intriguing, it made me want to keep reading it and never put it down. The way the author set up the dialogue, made you ponder over what would happen next. So if you are ever bored, and need a good book, you should stop by your nearest public library and check out Storm Catchers by Tim Bowler.

my crazy sick review

I read the book storm catchers by Tim Bowler. It is an interesting group about a girl named Ella, and her old brother was supposed to be watching her. She was kidnapped by a young man and brought to a cave under an abandonmenemt lighthouse. Ella's brother had to live with the fact that he let the kidnapper get his sister. Ella's dad owns a grocery store, he had an affair with one of the young girls who worked at his store. The women got pregnant and had a son. There is a bum in town and he got a hold of pictures of the two having an affair, he threatened to release the photos and black mailed him for money. Every week Ella's father would deliver money to the bum to keep him quit about the affair. Meanwhile the boy was growing up and the mother had a second child (little blond girl), Ella's father had never the two of them before. While Ella's father was sketching the lighthouse one-day he say the 2nd child(little blond girl) ran by him, even though he had never seen the girl before he knew it was her. He accidentally scared her and she ran off the cliff. The 1st child (boy) had out live to with the thought of him letting her sister run off the cliff his whole life. Now he was getting back at Ella's dad by kidnapping Ella. Will Ella make it out of the cave alive? I like this book because it was very unpredictable and in the end the whole book came together at the end. I also liked the suspenseful part of the book. I thought it was well written and used goo description. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mystery books. I also recommend this book to anyone who likes suspenseful books and anyone who enjoys books with an unexpected ending.
