Stops Along the Way

A sunny romance about a road trip and life's unexpected turns from the author of Give Me a Sign.

"Stops Along The Way is the vehicle for a perfect summer road trip: romance in the driver's seat with sisterhood riding shotgun." --Marissa Eller, author of Joined At The Joints and Left On Read.

Iris doesn't trust the odds. Not when she has a 1 in 4 chance of inheriting the same vision diagnosis as her sister, Amelia.

When Iris travels to the east coast to help Amelia drive her things back from college, the last person she expects to run into on campus is Declan, her board game club rival, but he's also there to drive his brother home for summer break. The unlikely occurrence results in the four of them caravaning together to Nebraska.

Iris and Declan are used to competing with dice and cards across a table, but the romantic feelings unfolding as they drive across the map are a total surprise. The odds of falling in love on the road seem low, especially amid car troubles and sister drama. Can Iris look past probability and embrace the unexpected?

Adorable romance, good perspective on disability rep

Iris and Declan are board game club rivals and they just learned that they have to drive back home together with their respective siblings from their college. This impromptu road trip can't get worse when Declan has to find out that on top of being deaf, there's a chance that Iris will have the same vision loss diagnosis as her sister. For me, this has such an adorable romance. I thought it was so reminiscent of innocent and pure start of crushing on someone and you just can't help but root for them. This wasn't exactly slow burn, but I like how they get to know each other, especially with the road trip aspect. The disability rep is the main reason I picked this up. And I truly appreciate the knowledge that I had gained for this. It was so interesting to learn about the way the characters navigate through it. Because it's nice to see the perspective on it. Overall, the story is okay. The romance was quite alright but nothing ground breaking. The disability rep escalated the story. And I personally like the ending. * I received an eARC
