Maine in the 30's: a beautiful country of hard-working people. Harvey is one of them. After graduating high school and not being able to play college baseball, he decides to stay home and try his luck in the newspaper business, but finding little reward in this menial job. All he really cares for is baseball. It was in 1936 when he saw the Pittsburgh Crawfords and decided he wanted to be like them, regardless of skin color.
