If you could only purchase to gardening books, this is one of the two.

This book is a must have for any gardener. The author was engineer who simplified organic gardening so that anyone can understand it, while at the same time making a 4 x 4 bed grow huge amounts of food. I give presentations on Organic Gardening at various places such as parks, HOAs etc. and when asked what books to buy I always say the first two are Teaming with Microbes and square foot Gardening. I always have a copy of each with me so that they can take a photo of them to order.

An excellent push in the right direction

This book has such a wealth of excellent information, and is an easy read. The writer's style is simple and straightforward and the information is easy to digest and put into action. These days when our food sources seem to be at risk, growing our own food is a smart thing to do, and this is one of the smartest books to start with to get the ball rolling. A purchase that you will not regret.

Everything I want or needed to know about planters in the back yard. From DIY making your own potting soils, to caring and growing vegetables. Writer is a good story teller..enjoyed this book!
