Spring: Seasons Board Books

ISBN 0152013903 - One of a 4-book series from author Demarest, Spring appeals on several levels. Get the set, including Winter: Seasons Board Books, Fall: Seasons Board Books, and Summer (Seasons) and introduce your child to the seasons in a fun way. In rhyme, the simple text introduces young readers to some of the common themes of the season. The pages have bright, colorful illustrations with unique cut-out sections that serve more than one purpose. What looks like the sun's rays on the cover are the beaks of baby birds when you turn the page, for example. The images, from edge to edge on every page, are perfect and convey the season flawlessly, from "Lambs play" to "Flowers bloom". With very few words, children will find learning - or at least memorizing - easy. The novelty of the cut-outs is great and the only flaw is in the pages themselves. Rather than the thick cardboard pages you find in most board books, these pages are two thin cardboard pages stuck together. The odd shapes of the cut away sections sometimes leaves protruding parts that are easily bent. - AnnaLovesBooks
