Southern Legacies is the best

This is the book I used to learn how to cook my first meals... and the inspiration to go gormet. Every one of the detailed, southern recipes are delicious and have drawn kudos from my guests. ...really, these dishes have a rich, elegant core that are sure to please you, your family and guests. Wow!

This is one terrific cookbook! The recipes are tasty and creative. Plus, it's even fun to just sit down and read it. I really love the Crabmeat Casanova and the Grasshopper Pie...and they're both sooooo easy.

Dixie Delights

Originally written to cut down the phone bills caused by her daughters calling long distance for recipes, this book has fabulous food that you'll enjoy for years! One of my favorites is the Carrot Cake with (amazing) Cream Cheese Frosting. But my word, it's tough to single out just one good recipe. I also adore the Cranmerry Berry Ice (a big favorite at holiday time), Brandied Sweet Potatoes (another holiday hurray), Artichoke Dip (instant and fantastic), Mushrooms in Vermouth (great for parties), Chicken Austine (cook ahead and bow), Cornish Game Hens (with seedless grapes!), Bean Bundles (cute and tasty string beans), Twenty-Four Hour Punch (don't drive after this one), the Chicken Pot Pies will change your life! oh, and the Red Velvet Cake (fantastic for valentines day...or Halloween). Actually, you can open the book to just about anywhere and find something to excite and impress your tastebuds. To top it off, Ms. Walker also gives hints about such things as making ahead, reheating and suggestions for accompaniments. This book would be a great housewarming or wedding gift ...or even a great gift to make yourself happy.

Excellent recipes with great helpful hints and suggestions. This book makes a great wedding gift for a new bride. It is full of unusual gourmet recipes, many easy to prepare with impressive results. I highly recommend it.
